Weekend

A weekend full of wondrous events, as the family descended upon us for three fun filled days, seemed to end as quickly as it began.

Most gathered on the lake for a day of boating, as sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews played together, as the sun went down on Nottley.

I stayed home knowing that fun in the sun and 'sea sickness' wasn't something I wanted to toy with. My son, Tommy, stayed with me and Joe, wanting to spend as long as he could with us.

Vogel Park was where we gathered for food.  Besides the standard hamburgers and hot dogs, I saw Collards on the grill, vegetable shish-kabobs, organic marinated chicken, salad with kale, fruits and Salmon.

Uh huh.... the health factor is infiltrating.  We even had fresh watermelon from our garden....SWEET!

Speaking of sweet, it was, to see Tori just before her check-in day at
Young Harris College.

Yep...First grandchild to go to college.  Her parents, and brothers and sisters all went to the dorm and organized her room,  the closet and made her bed.

My daughter, Nicole, seems strong and prepared for this separation, but I suspect she keeps her cellphone
close to her in her bed
 and texts Tori

"goodnight and sweet dreams, thinking that every night the message softly illuminating from her phone, serves as a night light that keeps her safe"....Mariam Brillantes

The weekend was brought to an end with my husband working hard in the kitchen making homemade eggplant Parmesan from the eggplants in our garden as I slept peacefully upstairs.

My husband, never ceases to amaze me with his ever watchful care of me in every detail, even down to this labor of love.

Yes, the weekend brought many joys and sweetness with it, albeit some cramping and discomfort (expectantly).

The impact it had on my spirit was immeasurable and I will be drawing on the memories throughout this ordeal

My loving family -

" And He  is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence".

Colossians 1:17-18
