Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?

When you have finally left the nest, spread your independence before you and entered a new chapter in your life, it is often customary to stay away from all that is familiar, enjoying your new found liberty with new friends and the like.

Not so with our granddaughter, Tori.  Where did she want to spend the first night before college classes and with whom?

That's right, in the home of Grammy and Pop-Pop.

Tori and her boyfriend, Devon, came to dinner. And for what seemed like the first time, apart from other family members, we ate at the table with no other distractions....

like the "on your own' adults we are.

It was a breath of fresh air, conversing with them about their dreams and aspirations and goings on of college life.

They have been at Young Harris for a few days now and Tori was able to secure a job and open a bank account.  Classes start tomorrow and she is ready...not only academically (she excels) but communally as well.

She comes from a loving, and  nurturing family environment headed up by two parents who have prepared her in every way....by their unconditional love, patience and prayerful stance.

Now it's up to Tori. Our hearts and hopes go with her, that she sets upon a spiritual path leading her to ultimate truth.

"Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it.
Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do."

 Joshua 1:8 NLT

  1. Momma & Daddy....how I am blessed to have such amazing parents to be my example and to grandparent my children. Thank you both so very much for loving our children unconditionally and giving them two godly examples to look up to. XOXO

  3. Linda, as I have said before, you are so blessed. I pray that you are feeling well and your health will be restored quickly. I have complete faith that this bump in the road is only there to show you what a beautiful life you and your family have. Everything happens for a reason, this most definitely is not random. Hugs to you.
